i seem to have a crazy problem with faint vertical bands in mov files i output from AE and import with the adrenaline.

    usual workflow:

    • output qt ref from adrenaline
    • import qt ref into ae comp (comp size/frame rate based on qt ref)
    • insert movie magic
    • export from ae (meridian codec doesnt seem to matter if compressed or uncompressed)
    • import file back to adrenaline (it takes less than a second.)
    • get frustrated
    • neglect sleep

does this sound like a familiar problem to anyone? i searched for it and people seem to have other problems, but i havent come across this one in any forums yet. unless its so common that it has a special name like, “after avid bands” or something.

Try using the animation CODEC when you render out of AE…

Try export same as source from avid instead of QT references. I use Meredien 3:1 or 2:1 all the time in AE without any problem. (Except Avid DV is horrible for chroma keying.)
