    Hi!

I’d like the corners of my video a little darker, like the vignet-effect that comes with cheaper lenses. So I made a Photoshop-file that consists of one layer, with dark corners and a transparent centre.

My problem is getting it imported into Avid (XPress De Luxe, Meridien III). I tried the different import settings, but I just can’t get it right: once imported as a matte, the corners turn lighter instead of darker. The middle stays transparent.

    Any help will be appreciated!

Did you try inverting the Matte Key in the effects window when you got the effect that the corners were made brighter?

This works when I import the file not as a matte but as regular media. The center is white, I drag the matte-key effect on it and invert the key. The only problem is I have to render it. And I’d like to use it on a fourty minute show :-l.
I think there should be a way of doing this without rendering…

try a .png export file for the matte and invert alpha in import options.

    Thanx a million Sep!
This works fine. This is gonna save me a lot of rendertime 🙂

    TNX!
