Is Avid planning a Mojo for HD/DVCPRO HD?
Posted by Mike Schmitt on March 7, 2006 at 3:14 pmThinking about going Avid.
An HD Mojo seems like the next logical step!
Maybe an announcement at NAB?

March 7, 2006 at 3:21 pmYou’re just going to have to wait and see. This has been something users have been asking for…for 2 years. An SDI i/o is something they’ve been asking for since Mojo was released.

March 8, 2006 at 2:19 pmIf that was supposed to be sarcasm directed at me, you obviously don’t pay attention to changing times, do you? SDI i/o is a cheap solution these days. It’s high-time that Avid gets on board and tries to keep pace with the changing times. Since they have a Media Composer line to protect, they’re going of course going to be slow to do it, but they’re going to have to, or they’re going to lose the bottom-end battles. There are some folks in this world who firmly believe they already have and won’t be able to get it back. We’ll see.

March 8, 2006 at 2:24 pmA Aja Kona LE is under a thousand dollars. That is inexpensive.
I was at a seminar last night about the HVX200 and someone inquired about using Avid XPress DV PRO to edit the footage that comes out of the camera (Avid and Canopus are the only to companies doing it) the speaker somehow manages to say “Yes..” but also included the words “Nitro” and “Adrenalin” quickly in the same sentence and deftly moved on to another question.
That response made me uneasy.

March 8, 2006 at 7:05 pmUm actually it was a little sarcastic, but it was more aimed at Avid……yes I do very much follow the times, so much so that even though I edit at work on an Adrenaline Media Composer, I have invested at home an online HD FCP system because I DO follow whats going on and Avid IMHO is really dropping the ball on all sorts of levels……I wont even start going down that road…..I would never invest MY money into Avid products….to expensive…to proprietary ect..ect…..
