    I’m originally a Final Cut editor. When a client would like to take a quick look at a program, I’d export a Quicktime using the Sorenson 3 compressor, size 480×320 or 320×240 with IMA 4:1 audio. This would result in a ‘manageable’ file size, so I’d upload it to their FTP and they could watch it at their convienence.

    I’m wondering on an Avid, what you guys suggest for such a ‘low res’ version. Quicktime or Windows Media Player or something else? I’m digitizing footage at 20:1, incase that’s an issue. I’m using an Avid Meridien system on Windows 2000.

    I use 320X240
    sorenson codec at medium settings
    10 frames per second
    qualcom pure voice audio compression

    this keeps file size down and looks pretty good. I have some clips with these settings here if it helps:
