  Avid and audio Control Surface

  I see that Apple are plugging the Mackie control surfaces for FCP 5.

  Do they work with Avid (Xpress Pro Mac)’s automation gain too, or is there a different control surface that does work with both FCP and Avid?

  Avid products work with the Digidesign Command|8 fader console, plus devices from Cooper and even at one time Yamaha. You’ll have to dig around on Avid’s website for more info. Some Avid products (XPro, Xpress Studio) support the Digi 002 mixer console too, but most of the high-end products don’t. At this time, Avid doesn’t offer support for Mackie or other main-stream control-surface protocols.
