changing a 29.97 seq to 24fps
further to my previous post about moving media from MC to Xpress pro, i have another query concerning the same project (still in planning stages).
the project is made up of NTSC archive footage and hand drawn animation (mostly seperate) and is to be delivered on 24fps HD. There is hours and hours of NTSC archive, but the animators are working directly in 24fps HD res. Because of cost its not feasible to convert all the archive before we know what we want so the archive cut (with big black holes for animated bits) is being cut in 29.97 SD. Once this has been done, I think we’ll need to convert the sequence and the archive footage we have used into 24fps, reconform at an offline res. and then begin to add the animation – the archive footage will still need to be live so we can fine tune around the animation an finally conform he finished seq at 24fps HD
I have never converted a sequence from one frame rate to another half way through an edit. Is this a realitively simple process? or am I going to get alot of slippage, and are there any precautions or considerations I must make?
thanks once again
