Hey guys, got a tough one to figure out.

Have digital rapids for compression and have run a remote cable into com port 2 of the avid for VTR emulation(Meridian 12.latest). I switch the avid into VTR emulation mode, but when I get to the Digital Rapids station, it does not see the sequence time-code. Playing, scrubbing, rewind, forward, those controls I have, but without time-code I can’t set in and out points.

Any ideas on why I have almost full control? It would be really nice to be able to do this from the digital rapids station, instead of having to have someone sit by the avid and hit play as I scream across the studio “NOW NOW NOW”

    Thanks

    Johnny,

Do you have an Avid VTR emulation cable (or have you made your own)? It’s not enough to merely put the Avid into emulation mode. The cable not only crosses the sends and receives for the various signals, but it sends the time code where it needs to go.

This I will have to check, believe we just used a regular remote cable.

    Thanks
