Exporting as Quick Time Movie: Error: File exceeds limit of 2GB, change export settings???
I am trying to export a quicktime movie (not reference), about half way through I get an error that the file limit size for exporting is 2gb, recommended to export a shorter duration or change my export settings?
There are no export settings to change the file size limit, i know you can change the file size limit for capturing, but has anybody heard of this?
My export setting are:Quicktime Movie
checked off use enabled tracks
same as source
use dv codec
video and audio
4:3 square pixelusing Xpress pro 4.6, quicktime 6.0, I have never seen this error before and I have been able to export as quicktime movie at this length of video.

It’s not the file sixe limit you need to change, it’s the compression factor.
There isn’t a 2GB limit on Quicktime as there is for OMF and AVI formats and so this error shouldn’t be occurring for a Quicktime export.

Exactly, that is why I don’t understand, I had quicktime 7 and I was getting the error that audio and video couldn’t be exported so I uninstalled that and re-installed an earlier version (6.0) and now i’m getting this error.

Alright, got it to work
It turns out I just needed to free up even more space then what the file took, like 17 gigs when the file was 10 -

My understanding is that Quicktime 7 isn’t yet supported by Avid – certainly not on Avid NewsCutter.
Quicktime 7 on a Windows PC is like Malware in that you can’t install it without installing iTunes. Guess what? I’m sticking to QT 6!
