  Avid Express Pro and Drive storage

  Hi,

  I’m looking do set up a Avid Xpress Pro and new Apple G5 system. Avid tells me that external drives over 200GB are not recommended (unless broken into less than 200GB pieces).

  Can anyone explain this for me? What if I have more than 200GB media? How do I get around this? Storage recommendations?

  Secondly, is capturing audio and video to separate drives necessary or recomended?

  I am primarily using DV and HDV – occassionally SD.
