Activity Forums Avid Media Composer Nesting?

So I’m looking for an easy way to repeat a lower third in a sequence so that if we find out we’ve spelled the guys name wrong or gotten his title incorrect we can update one spot and all the rest of the occurences will auto update.

The lower third is an animated background on one layer with an key framed 3d text FX above it on the a 2nd layer. The text keyframes match the animated background of course.

So in FCP i would take a finished lower 3rd that i like, put it in its own sequence, then drag that over into the main sequence to nest it within. As far as I know in Avid you can only nest FX, but since this is a text effect AND and animated background i’m not quite sure how to do this.

    Help would be appreciated.

Try nesting everything into a submaster clip (in your effects bin under image). You can nest everything into that (Or that as a new clip to move around and junk.

    Yeah….

    I don’t think that is the problem….

Normally when you NEST something and then use that nest in other sequences….this creates Instances of the nested source which dynamically refernce it.

That way if you edit the original, it’s updated everywhere….

I think this is what he wants to achieve…

Not sure how to tell him to do it….
