    Hi!
I’m working on a project where myself and the producer are in two separate locations. We have shared media on two drives and have been emailing bins back and forth as the edit progresses – no problems.

I now want to add music and some shots that weren’t in the original bins. How do we go about this so he can check what I’m doing?

I’ve sent him the bins with the new footage and edits as well as the footage and music files. He’s imported these files into the approprate bin, trashed the database files so the AVID can rebuild them but the AVID won’t find the footage or music – it is still looking for them on my drive at my location. We have identical bins and footage for the project.

My brains a bit fried with this one – is it something simple we’re missing?

    Help much appreciated

Give him a copy of the bins containing the new master clips.
For the music – highlight the offline master clips from his bin and use the Batch Import command.
For new tape based media, same thing – high and use the Batch Capture command.

Your sequence should automatically connect to it.

If it does not, highlight the sequence and the new master clips and invoke the Relink command.

    Thanks MPE.

Had done those things. The simple error I made was to do with the settings of the batch import. I had import offline media checked – as soon as I had all media it picked it all up fine.

Much thanks for your help – love this forum!
