This is a dumb question, but have only been working with NewsCutter for about a week now.

Finished my story, all the video on V1 and the audio A1 and A2. Then I wanted to drag a couple of clips to V2 like I’m used to with PPro.

I patchedd to V2, but everytime I tried, the clip would go to V1 and replace the audio to boot.

I beleive the only track I had selected was V2…I even tried locking A1 and A2…

I finally got my project finished by putting the shots at the end of the story on V1 and dragging them from there to the desired postion on V2. That worked fine, but I’m sure I’m doing something stupid here.

    Any help appreciated.

P.S.. In PPro, I can select either audio or video or both in the source window… can that be done in NewsCutter?

    Hi…

if the clips are already on V1 patching won’t help you.

Patching only helps whenyou lay a new edit.

I’ve not seen newscutter, but if it’s anything like th rest of the avid line….

at the botom of the sequence window you will see 2 arrows…

chhose the red one (segment mode)…

this will let you grab an existing segment and drag it up to the next track.

Make sure your click the red arrow again when you are done to getyou outo segment mode.
