  Upgrade ExpressPro HD to 5.1

  Hi all,
  I am attempting to upgrade our express to a downloaded upgrade 5.1.2.
  There doesn’t seem to be any “How to” directions included with download.
  I have my upgrade code and the DBHelper.exf file.

  Is it true that you need to uninstall current version before we upgrade?

  Any “gotchas” to look out for? Thanks in advance!

  The installer will prompt the uninstall process if a previous version is still on the system.

  If you are running WinXP, make sure you have SP2 installed. That was a huge issue for me, since our network folks hadn’t ‘blessed’ SP2. It delayed my install by about 3 months.

  We got a new Avid Xpress Pro HD system and tried to do the upgrade to no avail. The computer crashes when we try to open ProTools LE. I’ve been reading posts in the Avid forums and anywhere I can find them. I’ve seen the term upgrade key. So I’ll start there… where can I find the upgrade key?

  Any help is much appreciated.

  It should have been displayed on the page when you bought the upgrade…
