  • How to export imported ALE meta data

    Hi,

From the takes in the movie we created ALE files with all the take related information e.g. comment, camera, f-stop, lens, shuter, focus, date, filter, tape etc…..
We imported the ALE into Avid Xpress.

After cutting it in Avid we need to export the EDL but also the metadata mentioned above so we still have the take related information

You can always take the sequence and put it into its own bin. Set bin display to show only master clips and reference clips. The bin will now only show master clips used in the sequence. Highlight all the clips and export as TAB from the bin with all the heading you need.

Create EDL with clip names as comments.

You now have a cross reference using the clip name as the common link. You most likely can create a database in FileMaker Pro or other to merge that information as needed.
