Activity Forums Avid Media Composer Hot Video

I am using AVID Express DV and my video is always hot when I get it into the computer. I am taking it in through the firewire so it is a direct digital connection so I do not understand what is going on. If I export it to after effects, it gets even hotter. If I use that same video on another AVID system, the video looks fine. Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happenning? Also, is there a video input tool in AVDI DV? My express Elite has a way to adjust the video as it is being input to the computer.

Make sure your computer monitor is properly calibrated (including thre overlay). How does the footage look on a client monitor?

The footage looks bad everywhere. This includes on that computer, 3 other computers, 2 studio monitors, 5 portable DVD players, and client monitors. So, I know that the footage is actually being brightened in the transfer through the firewire. If I use my other AVID, everything looks great.
