  why does my video become blocky after being rendered?

  Hi,

  I am not sure if I am doing something wrong.. But I have standard DV footage, and from what I can tell, my composition settings in AE are set to standard DV…

  When I look at a section of the background of my original footage, it looks normal like this:

  but after I render my movie with AE, everything looks blocky and pixelated like this:

  Any suggestions?

  Under settings in the render q make sure the quality is not set to (use project settings) make sure it is set to best and make sure you are using a correct video format

  If your video was shot progressive, make sure that AE didn’t separate field on import. Select the footage, then file>interpret footage> main. If the footage is progressive, set “separate fields” to “off”.
