  • squeezing video files using Sorensen for output onto DVD

I have exported my 47 minute programme from Avid Express Pro to quicktime movie file (this programme is perfect in quicktime. I have then imported the quicktime movie for squeezing by Sorensen. Programme was squeezed at Iframe rate 12, fps 25 and 8,500 KBPS with de-interlaced settings = none. This has also been tried at various settings to try to resolve the problem. The squeezed file is then used in sonic reel DVD to produce the DVD.

A problem occurs when the DVD is played (which we think is a problem created when squeezed), most of the picture appears at good, high quality resolution. However there is a defect in that there sometimes appears a banding/rippling effect which is intermittent at various stages throughout the programme.

    Can anyone explain this/help?

8500 might be a bit high for some DV players. Try 8000.
