  Audio input problem

  Using XPress Pro 4.6 on a G5. I am capturing from a DV tape, but I see on the Audio Tool that the tone levels are too high at the beginning of the tape. I want to lower the levels for capturing, but when I go into Audio Project Settings, adjusting the Input Gain has no effect; it keeps playing the audio at the same levels. I’m using a DSR-11 via firewire, and I made sure my input source is set to OHCI. Any ideas on why I cannot adjust the audio input?
