avid native video & uncopressed issues
how does avid native video works? for example i have imported highres stills sequence. normally uncompressed video doesnt playback smoothly on my pc – becouse i have no expensive targa video card right? but how can avid xpress handle this. i gues, by importing avid is compressing my targa sequence to let me smoothly edit , add live fx, etc even on my laptop.

thing i dont get is – when im exporting for example uncompressed qt. is it a best possible quality available? or it is chewed by avidX? when im exporting – avid is not referring to original media (my targa sequence) it reffers to pritty lightwight omf.

is this workflow acceptable in proffesional industry such as broadcast & commercial production? if it is, what is the point to spend mf* 3000-8000 on a mf* massive video card? ok for preview & output/input?!
