night lights like a long exposure shot
I want to make some night street speeded lights from a videoclip to be like a long exposure shot. How can I do this in Avid?

Try using a motion blur from one of the plug-in vendors.

I could try the motion blur but I want to do more like this, something like “gain” on a videocam (long exposure)

Check out the dTective plug-in from Ocean Systems, it may end up giving you that look.

any sort of time echo type filter will do the trick.
you might also want to tweak your levels after that to bring out more of the highlights that might smear.
i believe the Boris Continuum Complete AVX has it. its a pretty great bundle of plugs. definitley worth the cash if you can spring for em.good luck,

Try Boris Red. Awesome stuff. There is always the more labor intensive (yet better looking) method of After Effects.______
