  random edit/time

  I need a script (or an expression) that will make the playhead jump randomly in the timeline…play for a few seconds and then jump to a new point in time etc. etc.

  Yes it would. And I know it excists because I found one a while ago but it EXPIRED!!!…go figure!

  try this page, about half way down there are a few expressions that can be used to timeremap footage. the one called ‘random jump cuts’ sounds like what you want:
