I’m having trouble getting my avid/mac system up and running properly.

At the moment I have Media Composer on a Mac. My Sony J30 deck is hooked up to the mojo by SDI (need this as we need 4 tracks of audio). The Mojo is connected to the Mac by the Firewire port on the back.

This all seems to be fine.

However, I have no deck control at the moment. I also have a firewire connection from the Deck to the front of the Mac, which gave Deck control when the Mojo wasn’t connected, but is doing nothing now.

    Any ideas please???

I believe for the mac you need a Keyspan adapter to convert the serial control (RS422) to a USB signal. I’ve heard different things about Keyspan under OSX – it works and it doensn’t. The only other way to control your deck without the adapter is to run Firewire in to the Mojo, which in your case you can’t do.
