  P2 already on drive

  Is there a way to use P2 footage already transferred to a HD? I have moved the filestructure intact from the P2 card to a dated and named folder, so it looks like this:

  C:/wherever/P2Media/* where * is the root of the p2 card

  I try to use import and select the directory as the root and it does not like that. Says there was no media found.

  I suppose I could map the dir to a drive letter and try again, but that seems a little extreme. any thoughts?

  I’m not in front of an Avid right now, so the context may be a bit off…

  Go to ‘file>import>P2’ and select import file (I think…). You’ll be importing the metadate, but use the media in it’s current location. If you select media, it will import the media and the metadata into your media drives. Takes a little bit of time, but you’ll have two versions.
