So Im on a Media Composer Adrenaline. I have seriously customized my preferences. The interface colors, the arrangement of the windows, the track colors, button styles, workspaces, and keyboard button mapping, among many other things. I have literally been tweaking my workflow and on layouts for about 2 years on this system. That said I am moving to another system and need to take all this preference files with me. I cannot find it in my Media Composer Help. Perhaps Im looking up the wrong keywords. Can someone please point me in the right direction to corralling all these custom preferences so I can take them with me and load them onto the new system. What a headache it would be to lose them. Thanks folks. -Justin

They should be in applications / Avid / Media Composer / user settings, no?

unfortunately this is not the directory to find them in. Is this the default location Jon? I think I found them in another location. Hard Drive/Users/Shared/Adrenaline/Avid Users/my name. Does this sound right? Another editor, before my time here, set up this infrastructure and this may not be the default location. Regardless, there are two files that I think might by the right ones with the aforementioned directory. They end with the .ave and .avs file extensions. Are these the files to take with me? What do you think Jon? Thank you. -Justin

If you sign in on the mac, rather than it going straight to the desktop, then you would find your settings in the shared folder. Take the whole folder, not just the files. And back it up several times! Get a couple of cheap thumb drives, and use them only for your settings. I know how attached I am to my settings!
