    Hi All,

I’m new to this message board and I’m new to Avid, so please bear with me.

I am having trouble authoring/burning DVDs with Avid Xpress Pro. I have a Mac OS X with plenty of memory and the media is fine.

I select the sequence > bin > file > send to> DVD – and then nothing happens – I can’t click on DVD and there’s no “side menu.” I used to be able to make QuickTimeReference files – going through the steps I listed above, but now for some reason I can’t. Is there a way to reset or change this? Or will I have to uninstall Avid and then reinstall it?

My goal is to make a very basic DVD. I don’t want to go to the trouble of picking out buttons and themes, making a slideshow, etc. – as with iDVD. I just want to make a DVD so that when you put it in the player – it plays automatically.

    Thanks,
A very very frustrated Avid user

    Stephanie,

On the mac, Avid uses iDVD. If you want, export the video (as QT ref…)…

Drop it in iDVD. Set the video to be the First Play item. Then when your client puts in the video, it’ll just play.

    Best,

    Jeff
