Student in need of some assistance
I am an editing student about to tackle HD for the first time. The film was originally shot on Super 16, then transferred to HDCAM as well as DVCAM. I plan to use the DVCAM to capture my footage and edit. I will then do an online capture of my final timeline using the HDCAM tape. Ultimately, it will be transferred back to HDCAM and mastered onto a DVD.
My question is how would I initially set up the project as far as choosing 24p, 23.976 NTSC, Matchback, etc? How can I ensure a smooth transition into ProTools for audio work? Lastly, I may be adding some visual effects using After Effects and/or Maya. What’s the best way to juggle footage between the programs without wasting too much time?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
