Hotel Locations
If I am able to go this year it will be my first NAB and I am wondering what Hotels are nearest the Showfloor. I’ve never been to Las Vegas and I don’t how things are laid out.

Of course the closest hotel would be the Las Vegas Hilton –It’s right next door, but I’m sure you’d pay a pretty penny for staying there if you could even get a room.

Clicking on that will get you a look at the hotels available through the nabshow reservation line. There’s also a map at the bottom of the page to see the proximity of the hotel to the convention. Keep in mind that most hotels have shuttles to the convention and I think the monorail is now running and provides a quick trip to the convention as well. Not sure if the monorail is free, but the shuttles will be.
Also try various online travel services. If you’re flying in, you might be able to get a fly/hotel package that will be a better deal than just booking the room separately.

the Bestwestern (Mardi Gras) is right across the street from the convention center and is a pretty good price

There are a variety of hotels that have really good prices and even if you’re not right across the street from the convention, keep in mind that many hotels offer free shuttle service to and from the convention so it’s not necessary to be “right there.” — unless, of course you want to. Keep in mind that the hotels that are really good deals in that they are cheap AND close fill up really quick.
That link I provided in the post above shows you which hotels will have shuttles. But even that shouldn’t limit you to one of those hotels. If your hotel doesn’t offer a shuttle, it may be close to one that does. Just walk to the shuttle.

A couple of helpful things- the Convention Center is on the monorail line and you can often get cheaper rooms in hotels that do not have casinos. I got a mini-condo with kitchen & living room for $103/night. It’s in the middle of the strip and has direct access to the monorail. I fould it via Hotels.com. I also find it helpful to look at several on-line maps to get an idea of how to find things, including the hotel map and the Las Vegas visitors & convention bureau map.
The rates at the Las Vegas Hilton jump to $600 a night during NAB- that’s gouging if I’ve ever seen it.
