Whilst I’m waiting to get my swatches back I thought I’d try and create a ‘cylinder’ … this is probably so easy when someone explains it I’ll almost certainly shoot myself, in older versions of Invig if I wanted a cylinder I created a ‘stroked’ path in illustrator, but with the new object drawing – how to do it now ? I can draw a circle which creates a disc but then how do I cut a circular hole through it ? Many thanks for taking the time … Roger

I have just created a tube by making a circle –
then with the first cycle selected – in read hold alt on MAC – and click on the circle edge line not any of the handles and you can pull off the second circle adjusting the size of the 2nd cycle dictates the tube thickness, I then extruded to the tube –

hope this helps also see here:

Thanks Bob, that’s excellent but I can get the outer circle to duplicate and then I’m struggling to get the inner circle to PERFECTLY centre itself within the outer, it seems to be only possible to do it ‘by eye’ – for this particular job it may be enough … good of you Roger

    Hi Roger,

If you hold down the “Option/Alt + Shift” key while scaling the circle, it will keep the circle in the same position while scaling the circle down to size.

    Best,
    Edward

    Hi Roger.

Another option for creating a cylinder is to use our lathing tool.
Either choose Object> Create 3D Lathe Object or type Cmd (or Ctrl)+L.

You can edit the shape in the Object Drawing panel.
A thin lathed rectangle can be used to create a cylinder shape.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks Matt – I’ll give that a try too.
