I have a vector file of a music staff with notation..

I would like to deform it along a path, and reveal the notes
    as they are heard..

Is this possible with any zaxwerks product? Serpentine?

    similar to this:

    Hi Matthew,

You can pull off that effect using 3D Serpentine. To do this, create the path of the rollercoaster in After Effects using a small Solid Layer. Keyframe the position to create the path. Then, apply 3D Serpentine to a Comp-Sized Solid and set the path layer as the extrude path. This will create the 3D path. You can then set the body to Line, and you will get a thin strip. By adding an image with the transparent background and the music notes as the Body map, you should be able to pull off the effect you’re going for.

To try 3D Serpentine as a demo, go to https://zaxwerks.com/download/

Click the “Demo” button when the authorization dialogue box pops up.

    Best,
    Edward

    Thanks Edward!

How do you rotate the texture? I have a bunch of lines of music instead of one long one, I need to rotate the texture 90 degrees..

    Hi Matthew,

To do this, go into the Path Offsets section, and apply a 90 degree rotation to the control “Path Rot X”. This will rotate the texture by 90 degrees.

    Best,
    Edward
