  Changing default comp settings

  One of my main customers isn’t in to 3D much at all and as I’m working my way around in the PA demo, am wondering (based on the most needed positioning) if it’s going to be possible to set the default for new comps to a 2D-flat image as a starting point. I am having to use the pose tools to navigate the font to this position by hand each time I try out a new title and thought it’d be nice if there were some way that I’d be able to save this workspace as a separate preset to use when needed.

  (They like the 3D look when animation is in progress but the text has to land flat and x-y square at the destination)

  Hi Butch.

  We don’t have a way to set a default layout, but you may
  consider saving an empty scene that has the camera set
  up the way you like. Then, load this scene as a starting
  point each time you begin a new project. Be sure to do
  a Save As… in order to keep your default project around.

  So, use the pose controls to position my text as square as possible,(relative to X-Y) save the scene – then delete / replace the text with new text for a title when I want one?

  Hi Butch.

  Yes, that would probably be your best bet.

  One of the great features of Zaxwerks products
  is that you can create many revisions/version quickly
  by simply editing the text and re-rendering.

  It does work. Selecting – then deleting text takes out any applied formatting (styles etc… and animations too so it’s possible then to select and apply any new animation I choose.
