I am using ProAnimator 4.3.2. I am new to this software. In fact I am using it in demo mode to preview it for potential purchase. I imported an ai file into Animator. The image lost all color information and became gray scale. Is there any way to import an image so it can retain its color?

    Thanks in advance

In the SELECT ARTWORK dialog box there is a checkbox at the bottom called USE ILLUSTRATOR COLORS. Check that when importing your Illustrator file.

I checked that box. I still didn’t get to keep the color information when going to ProAnimator. I am using CS2 if that helps. Any more ideas about what I should do? BTW this looks like a great product if I could just keep my color info.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Bobby.

ProAnimator can only retain simple colors from the AI files. It won’t import gradients, patterns, etc.

In most cases, you’ll need to import your artwork and then create materials that give your 3D artwork the look you want.

Let us know if you still have questions.

Hi, I just bought Zaxwerks Proanimator and am learning my way around it…I render and export movie file and when I import it into Avid Xpress Dv it doesn’t recognize the alpha channel. I am new to Zaxwerks and wondered if anyone can help. Thanks!

Sure I’ll send you the file. Thanks for the help. I am sure it is just user error.

    Thanks,

    Bobby

Did you check the “Alpha Channel” checkbox before rendering the movie file?

    Hi daibeer,

Be sure you’ve saved your file in Illustrator format and that it contains vector, rather than bit-mapped elements. Also uncheck “use compression” when you save the file.
