  • 3D Flag Crashes AE, Can’t Save File

I’m stuck. I have a 3D flag effect in an AE project – I rendered all but 1.5 secs of the section with the effect, then the render failed saying “cannot continue” (and a *3, (4) – if i remember correctly). Ever since then, AE crashes whenever I go to that section of the project or whenever I try to render – and it also crashes whenever I try to save the file. I’ve tried this on 3 different Macs, all with the same results (a G5 dual 2.0 w/6 GB RAM, a G4 dual 1.3 w/2 GB RAM, and a Powerbook dual core 2.4 w/2 GB RAM) – OSX 10.4.1. I’m using 3D Flag 1.0.2, and have tried replacing it, but same results.

I’ve seen some other posts referring to others running into this problem, but haven’t seen any indication that it’s ever been successfully addressed.

I’m going to have to remove the plugin from the plugins folder to continue working, but need a solution to this problem, or will have to abandon the effect (and 3D Flag, for that matter). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi inmania.

If you can send me your file (.aep file), I’d be happy to take a look.

    Send files to: matt@zaxwerks.com

Let me know which version of AE you’re using, and at which
    point the render fails.

    Thanks.
