I need to create a realistic looking diamond, viewed straight down on a diamond ring, in proanimator.
Anyone done this and can get me started?

    Thanks so very much.

    Hi Jerry,

Modeling a diamond shape is probably best done in another application better suited for creating complex shapes. You could also find a diamond model and import the model into ProAnimator. Check out some of the free model sites and you might find one.

Either way, you’ll want to add some glints to simulate refraction.

Thanks. I am doing well with Proanimator and I have a 2-d drawing of a diamond that I like. I don’t have any 3d programs or know where to get a model. This is my first time to have to do something very specific and I’m sruggling. It will be a good learning process, but I don’t even know how to do glints yet. Thanks for your reply.

    Jerry,

Try your favorite search engine and search for diamond.dxf or diamond with one of the other formats. 3Dcafe.com is another place to check.
