Spikes in layer cycling
I’m pretty good at Illustrator, so I’m a little stumped here… I’m doing a project similar to this one by Rick Gerard on morphing
https://www.creativecow.net/articles/gerard_rick/morph/index.html
and I always end up with these bizarre “spikes” that stick out on certain frames when I use that as an cycling object. I tried the spikebuster (nada), and then I looked at the individual layers that seemed to stick out in Illustrator, looking for the cause. The only thing that I see is that the path crosses over itself, but it also does on a number of other layers as well, and doesn’t seem to cause problems on those.
I found a thread with a similar question, but no real answers there at
Do you think the overlapping path is the issue? If so, does someone know a quick solution? (there’s approx 500 layers, and only about 15 spikes)
Thanks in advance!
