Faster lenses for 250Us?
We’re currently using three JVC GY-HD250Us with the stock lenses in our contemporary church service. We recently cut our lighting back quite a bit for a much more intimate feel for our worship sets. I’d really like to upgrade to faster glass so I don’t need to run wide-open or crank the gain.
Any suggestions for upgraded glass? I asked JVC. All they recommended was the Canon 14x lens that comes stock on the 790 for marginal low-light improvement. They also suggested decreasing shutter to 30fps. I have experimented with 30fps shutter, but thought it made motion look distractingly choppy.
Aside from the slightly better performance of the stock Canon lens, does the GY-HD790 itself offer any better low-light performance?
And lets say I try everything and still don’t get the low-light performance I’d like to see. What would be a good next camera to upgrade to to get us the low-light performance we need? (Doesn’t have to be JVC.)
