  Not able to “restore media”

  After transferring our files to FCP our JVC 700u will not allow us to “restore media” but requires us to reformat the disc before recording additional footage which obviously erases our current files. Any solutions to this hopefully easily resolved issue?

  You’re probably borking up the media file structure, likely by just deleting the .mov files, and not the accompanying XML and other info files on the SDHC card.

  Just reformat each time to start fresh, or delete the whole PRIVATE folder on the card after offloading media.
