I use a CitiDisk with my JVC GY HD-101 with no problems but am looking at a backup (non-tape) system…
Before I buy one and it doesn’t work, does anyone know if I can record to any firewire hard drive?
(thinking about the LaCie Rugged 320GB specifically)

    Sean,

You should be able to come out of the CitiDisk via FireWire and go into the LaCie via your computer. [CitiDisk into computer; LaCie into computer, then drag files to LaCie.] Consider calling LaCie and/or CitiDisk and asking.

Whenever I’ve called LaCie they’ve always been extremely helpful.

Thanks Charlie but hat wasn’t exactly my question.
Apologies – I may have been unclear in my first ever real cry for forum help..
I was enquiring as to whether anyone knew if I could record straight onto the LaCie from the JVC GY-HD101. Can it be done? Would I need any additional software?

    Cheers
