  • Problem Dubbing via Firewire from HD110

    Hi Everyone,

I’m trying to dub (downconvert) some footage (HDV 720P @ 30fps) via IEEE1394 from my GY-HD110 to a Panasonic AJ-SD255 VTR. I’ve done everything the manualtells me to do and I can’t get a signal in to the AJ-SD255. I’m pretty sure there’s nothing wrong with my firewire output on the HD110 because I capture footage often with it and it works fine. Could somebody let me know what I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks

It is impossible to downconvert via firewire. Firewire simply copies data- period. You would have to either go analog or just digitize the 720p to your computer, do the downconvert via software, then dump back to the deck.

    Best.
