    hi there,
i’m attempting to achieve a vignette over a dark brown solid. i’ve got a feathered oval mask over the layer, but since it is such a dark color, the gradation has a stair-step look to it. since i want a gradual and smooth gradation, is there any solution beyond brightening the background?

    thanks in advance!

Try switching to 16 or 32bpc. Anf if you’rendering to something like the DV CODEC, then add some noise to remove the color banding.

    Hi Timothy,

Is it an idea to change the depth in your project settings to 16 or 32 bits per channel?

    cheers,
    Wieger
