I can hardly believe that After Effects CS4 and Premiere CS4 can’t locate the files of my projects that I created in CS3 versions of those programs! I have an AE project with “54 files missing”!!! So I have to reload them one by one. I didn’t change where the files are located. Am I missing something? This just seems incredible to me. Same thing with Premiere, I have to tell it where each of the video files, graphics, etc. are. Anyone know a solution to this without having to reload every single file?

Ok, I’m responding to my own post. I found the anwer. Yes, I should have researched before I ranted (usually do), but maybe this will help someone else with the problem of missing files. It’s very frustrating.

From a post on the “Basics” Forum:

In the project window, double-click on one of the pieces of missing footage. A window should open to navigate to the new location. Click on the footage in the new location, and AE should link to all the other missing footage in that folder.
