  ZOOM H5 // Audio didn’t write

  Hi,

  We recorded audio to an SD card through the ZOOM H5, saw the red light, same as we’ve done 1000 times…but the audio isn’t on the card. We don’t remember see it say “writing” after recording, but everything else was normal…is it possible that the file is somewhere hidden on the card and can be recovered?

  Sorry for your loss. Here are a few thoughts.

  Try looking at the card with Sound Devices Wave Agent.

  I’m not certain that Drive Savers does SD cards, but it’s worth a call.

  Did you format the card before recording? Did you choose one of the card types stipulated by the mfgr?

  If no to either, things can get flaky.
