    Fundamental question for you gentlemen.

    Why are the AF levels on the receiver measured in db (-30, -24, -18, etc.)? When AF is measured in Hertz?

    As you said, audio LEVELS are measured in db (deciBels) or volts (or millivolts).

    But audio FREQUENCY is measured in Hz (Hertz).

    If you look at those on (for example) a frequency-resposnse graph, typically the X-axis (horizontal) dimension is frequency in Hz, and the Y-axis (vertical) is measured in dB.
