  XLR balanced to 1/4″ jack unbalanced

  Hi, I am trying to connect a amp which only has 1/4 jack inputs (for left/right channel) to a mixing desk that is 20 meters away. Kind of like a DI box but in reverse. Does suck a thing exist?

  Use ordinary mic cable (shielded pair with XLR connectors).
  Then use an XLR to 1/4 inch phone adapter at the amp inputs.

  You don’t know if you really need an isolation transformer for your application without trying it. I would certainly try it without a transformer first, before spending the extra $$$. If you really need a balancing transformer, you can use something like the Ebtech HE-2 stereo isolation transformer.
