Choosing a DAW with Video Abilities – Recommendations?
Hi guys.
I was hoping you could help me choose a new DAW.
In the past I’ve used Mixcraft, which is basically PC Garageband. It has a pretty good featureset and I really like how it’s laid out, but I find the piano roll editor to be really buggy and I’m getting tired of it. It also can’t slave the MIDI clock to external equipment, which would be nice, though not essential.
Meanwhile, I was exploring the possibility of doing some auto-tune type videos. I usually use Premiere for video editing. The difficulty here is that Premiere has no way to generate sounds that I’m aware of.
What would be amazing would be if I essentially had Premiere with a Piano roll and VSTi instruments. That way I could do all the video and audio together without having to try to re-sync clips later.
Do you have any good recommendations?

If you have Premiere, why not try Audition?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression that Audition did not support virtual midi instruments.
