  Mic options for Sennheiser ew100G3

  Playing around with my new Sennheiser ew100G3. I had to film a presentation today with two speakers, tag-team style. No way to switch mics. So instead of using the supplied LAV mic, I used this cheap Sony mic I found in my drawer!

  I think it might be the ebay knock-off. Anyway, with that mic plugged into the transmitter and the receiver plugged into my on-board mixer (Sony nx7OU cam) the sound was much better than the shotgun mounted to the camera (backup audio).

  My question is, is there a better mic I could use for this setup? Is what I am doing unorthodox? Do people usually use a zoom H1 or similar mic outputted to the transmitter?

  ps, I know I can just throw a zoom out there and sync up the audio in post.
