Tascam 60D – can’t turn off mics
I’ve recently purchased (B&H) the Tascam 60D to use w/ a DSLR. Many nice features, however I’ve plugged in several microphones (both phantom & non phantom), and can not turn the volume off using the front pots. With the pots completely off, I’m still getting signal in the recordings. The pots seem to kick in at about 11 o’clock. I spoke to Tascam, and was told that was the way the pots work! This means that all mics plugged in are always somewhat live, even if potted off! Admittedly, I’ve only had the unit for a few days, and could be missing something. The audio level issue feels like an AGC, but I don’t see that as an option in the menu.
Any insights would be welcome.
Thanks,
