  Recording multitrack in the field (two systems, or multitrack)

  Hello I’m a happy 702 and pmd661 owner. The PMD was my first recorder. Wanted something more professional and bought me a 702. I mostlty record sound efx for a sound bank project that i’m making with my students here in Brazil. I also record the songs and soundtracks that i do for theater plays (mostly live playng material). And in that business more channels are realy being necessary. Now i’m using both recorders. But can i trust two systems?

  Does anyone has an opinion on that?
  Should i buy a multitrack? A DR680 that has digital in for instance! So i could put the SD702 in front of it’s digital in and have more 4 chanels to go, but all recording in the same system (dr680).

  Or should i stay with the PMD661 and wait a little more for a better multitrack recorder (744 or 788).
