  my zoom recorder H4n is not recording

  I just bought a H4Nex zoom recorder. When I press the REC button it doesn’t flassh or start recording how is suppose too. I would really appreciate some help. The SD card is already inserted and has full battery’s.

  Is the SD card formatted?
  Is the H4n in endurance mode? If it is, are your recording presets suitable for that mode?

  Yes the SD has been formated.
  For some reason is not recording, therefor it’s not creating any files. < no data > .
  It’s driving me crazy.

  Is it supposed to record when you press the record button only. Id thing that would put it into record standby, and need a play command to roll???
  Are you seeing an input on the meters / in the headphones ok. (I realise thats different to a non roll issue!)
