I am shooting a doc and we are using a H4n to record audio.

It was working fine till yesterday but now we are having a problem with the right channel.

We normally have a lav connected to the right channel and a boom to the right. the left channel is totally fine regardless of what is connected to it, the right channel is noisy no matter what is connected to it.

Im not running phantom power, nor am I using a ac adaptor.

Does not seem to be related to the xlr input because when I try to use the built in microphones the problem persists on the right channel.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Thank you

I hate being obvious but something has gone bad in your right channel preamp. I would suggest contacting the manufacturers tech support/repair department for further info.
