Export multiple mp3’s from Protools LE 7.1
Greetings Protoolers!
I would like to export 80+ tracks from Protools LE 7.1 as mp3’s. I would like to export each track while retaining in and out points as well as the track name.
If I export each track as a region will it retain the name? (For example, 01, 02, 03, 04…etc…) Is this possible? I plan on purchasing Music Production Toolkit 2.
Also while I have your attention…Is there an audio plugin with Large audio meters for Protools LE 7.1? I’m not a fan of the small meters within Protools.
Your thoughts, and recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Nicholas,
First, go heat some water for the tea you’ll be sipping while doing all those exports. Exporting your consolidated regions is the way to go, indeed. The resulting files will take the name of the regions they were exported from. Of course, you need the PT MP3 Option to do this.
For meters, there are a few options in the “audio analyzer” plugin market, but those will only show you the one channel they are inserted on. A neat trick I’ve seen used is to create a window configuration that just shows the faders in narrow mix view and put it on the top of your monitor. It makes a decent meter bridge, but it eats up lots of screen real estate.
As for plugins, Inspector XL is well regarded, but you might want to try the free version (https://www.rndigital.org/inspector.html) as it might be all you need. As a true meter plugin, Waves Dorrough is fabulous but very expensive for a software meter, IMO.

If the files are named on the timeline, they will retain that name upon export.
I think you export as files, not regions, but I can’t check right now because the machine is doing a FCP render.
Not that I’m aware of. Which meters?

JC is right! the mp3 export costs an additional, um, $30?
If you’re on a Mac, you can also convert to MP3 with iTunes, but you have to name the files.

I just downloaded the inspector XL plug in recommended. It works like a charm! It is just like the inspector in Bias Peak. It functions the same way. Thanks for everyone’s help.
